​DIEGO
A short film by Sara Seligman
"Diego" was shot on location in Cuernavaca, Morelos. A city 45min. south-west of Mexico City. The cast and crew stayed in a house in Cuernavaca where we shot for four days.
The children were all local to Cuernavaca, Leo (Diego) and Renata (Fernanda) attend the same primary school that Sara, the director, used to attend … years ago.
All of our night shots are day for night, mainly because we had children and couldn't keep them up so late.
"Diego" fue grabada en locación en Cuernavaca Morelos. Todo el reparto y el crew vivieron en una casa rentada durante los cuatro dÃas de grabación.
Los niños son de Cuernavaca, de hecho Leo (Diego) y Renata (Fernanda) van a la misma primaria a la cual Sara, la directora, fue hace … años.
Todas las escenas de noche fueron noche por dÃa. Principalmente porque tenÃamos a los niños y no podÃamos desvelarlos.
"Diego" was shot hand held from beginning to end. The camera department was a one person team, the DP had to do it all! This included pulling focus while shooting hand held. Very impressive.
There is one deleted scene, its a car scene. It had to be left out because of story and running time, it was always a "maybe scene" even when it was written we knew it would possibly not make it in the final cut.
"Diego" fue grabado con cámara al hombro de principio a fin. El departamento de cámara era una sola persona: el cinematógrafo, por lo cual tuvo que hacer todo el mismo, hasta buscar foco durante las escenas.
Hay una escena borrada en un auto. La tuvimos que eliminar en parte por la historia y en parte por el tiempo. Incluso en papel sabÃamos que esa escena quizás no llegarÃa a la pantalla.

Sara was born and raised in Mexico, and was always surrounded by the arts: Dance, Theatre and TV. It was in 2005 when Sara moved to NYC that she found her passion in filmmaking, a dream she has pursued ever since. She currently freelances in production while writing and directing her own projects. She just shot her first feature film "Coyote Lake".
Sara nació en Cuautla Morelos, creció rodeada de creatividad: Danza, Teatro y Televisión. Fue en el 2005, cuándo Sara se mudó a Nueva York, que descubrió su pasión detrás de la cámara en el mundo del cine. Ahora Sara vive en Los Angeles y trabaja de freelance en producción para cine, televisión y cine. Al mismo tiempo Sara trabaja en sus propios proyectos. Sara acaba de filmar su primer largometraje "Coyote Lake".
